We are here to help owners and their pets memorialize their time together with a personalized and compassionate approach.
Our services are designed to prepare your pets for afterlife while providing support to help you through this difficult time.
We offer a range of ways to honor and celebrate the life of your beloved pet. From personalized artwork and handcrafted urns to delicate jewelry, and more, we help you commemorate your companion in a meaningful way.
Eleanor Soule
Director and Guide: Eleanor was born and raised in Maine alongside a diverse range of family pets including dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, ducks, and a pig, which fostered her deep love for animals. She earned her bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College in 2016, and will complete her MBA at the end of 2025. She spent the last five years working in management and customer relations at Chilton Furniture before pivoting back to her love for animals. She understands, and has experienced first hand, how difficult it is to say goodbye to our animal friends, and looks forward to fostering an environment that allows you and your pet to honor a life well loved.

Farewell My Friend was created to provide a compassionate and dedicated space for pets, their owners, and the community during one of life’s most emotional moments. We provide a peaceful environment where you can say goodbye to your beloved pet outside of a veterinary office, with thoughtful options to honor and memorialize your dearest friend.
Dr. Amy Ruksznis
Founder, Owner, and DVM: Dr. Amy Ruksznis, brings nearly 20 years of veterinary experience to Farewell My Friend, a service born from her firsthand understanding of the need for compassionate and personalized pet aftercare. “It’s a privilege to support owners and their pets during such a tender time,” she explains. Dr. Ruksznis is also the founder and owner of Topsham Veterinary Wellness Center, where she specializes in preventative care and fostering long-term health for pets. Her advanced knowledge and heartfelt dedication to pets and their families make Farewell My Friend an invaluable resource and loving addition to Maine's community.
