Yes! Farewell My Friend is proudly and independently owned by veterinarian Dr. Amy Ruksznis. Being locally owned allows us to create a space and experience that truly reflects the care we hope every family feels when they walk through our doors. From the time and privacy we provide to the small, personal details that make each goodbye unique, our approach is shaped by the people and pets we serve. Independence gives us the freedom to stay close to the heart of why Farewell My Friend was created: offering compassionate, thoughtful care during one of the most difficult moments we share with our pets.
Farewell My Friend is not open on the weekends. We are open by appointment only, Monday through Friday.

Yes, we are able to help with behavioral euthanasia if you can provide a recommendation from your vet. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us to learn more about how we may be able to help.
Although affiliated with Topsham Veterinary Wellness Center, we welcome clients from any vet practice.
If you don’t have recent medical records, we will request a medical recommendation for euthanasia, which can be obtained at most vet offices. Farewell My Friend cannot provide a recommendation for euthanasia. We can only schedule appointments for pets who have current medical records or a veterinary recommendation for euthanasia.

A nontraditional veterinary setting is a space that is designed more like a home setting than a veterinary office. You can expect to see rooms set up in a traditional home arrangement including couches, rugs, pet beds, and other household arrangements.
Aquamation (Alkaline Hydrolysis) is a water based, cremation alternative. This process uses 95% water and 5% alkali to create a strong base pH in the stainless steel chamber, which accelerates the natural aftercare process.
We accept a variety of payment methods including credit/debit card, PayPal, and cash. All invoices are paid in full prior to an appointment. Unfortunately we are not able to offer payment plans or CareCredit.
